Celebrated in story and song, remembered for its dramatic history,
cherished for its exceptional beauty, the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia is located between
the Blue Ridge and the Allegheny Mountains. The legendary Shenandoah River runs through
it while the peaks of the Shenandoah National Park look down. The valley served as a
corridor for the nations westward expansion. It also served as an important avenue of
approach for the Southern invasion of the North during the Civil War, and numerous important
engagements in that conflict were fought in its towns and countryside. The Town of Edinburg,
home of the Edinburg Village Shop, lies midway between Winchester in the north and
Harrisonburg to the south. Many visitors comment on the towns beauty and charm. Newcomers
will find a warm and hospitable welcome.
